The standard CZ75 design has less mass up high due to its slim slide design. This, combined with a bulbous grip and metal frame heft should produce less muzzle flip and felt recoil. If you already like the Omega trigger, it would seem that a standard CZ75 with the Omega trigger would be the logical choice. One question I'm still not sure of is whether there is any difference between the triggers in the two Omega versions with the standard safety or the convertible model. Also, I think I've read that the Omega trigger system is better than the one on the standard 75B, unless the second one has modifications. iTrader: 1 / 100%. Here you can see the SP-01's added front slide serrations while the front of the CZ-85/75's are smooth. The SP-01 comes with a polycote trigger as apposed to the polished metal trigger of the CZ 85. Funny enough the SP-01's poly cote trigger is one of my favorite parts of the pistol. B) I would have 11 months to train with it, pick holsters, etc. Anyway, right now my top picks are a CZ P-01 or a P-02. As far as I can tell the only difference is that the P-02 has the new Omega trigger system, but on the CZ forums one poster mentioned that with the Omega system the barrel had to be changed to accommodate the new system. The parts to change the pistol to a standard safety are supplied with the CZ 75 Omega. The changeover isn’t difficult for the average shooter. The pistol’s double-action trigger is longer and heavier than a CZ 75B and CZ 75 D Police we had on hand for comparison. The double-action trigger was heavy at 14 pounds, while the single-action . The CZ Custom Shop, however, can build you one using the new Omega Trigger -- which lets you switch from safety to decocker, or vice versa. A lighter alloy frame with a safety might be the best choice for some folks. I think they call it a P-02-style gun. The P-02 is a new gun, not yet imported to the US. I own a Sp-01 with safety and a P01 with decocker, the safety model has slightly smoother trigger. If you planning on doing any cc I would get decocker model. Both are a pleasure to shoot and you couldn’t go wrong with either model. Personally I would go with what’s available leaning toward the safety model. Designed for use in the CZ-UB factory competition hammer only (CGW part number 10040, 10035, and 10035 D/C). P-07/09 75B Omega and P-01 Omega Also fits the newest CZ P-01 Omega Convertible: Modernized P-01 with Omega trigger group, updated hammer and sights, and decocker/safety swap kit. CZ P-06:.40 S&W version of the P-01. CZ P-07 Duty: Polymer framed variant with a redesigned trigger control group, a new, more angular frame, and a safety/decocker swap kit. A really, really nice combination for just over $1000 all-in. Comparing this to my Sig 229-9-LEGION RX that was just over $1500 all-in is apples and oranges. The P-01 is lighter and more compact, but with the 16+1 round Mecgar mags has plenty of capacity and about 4 oz lighter than the Sig.
