Ihad a 2.0 JTS in my 156. The engine does burn a lot of oil so 10w-60 spec. really is the way to go. Using a thinner spec. will lead to a much higher rate of burn. Even with the 10w-60 I had to check the oil level at least once a fortnight. Do yourself a favour and avoid the unecessary heartache caused by an oil starved engine.
